Farbo Motorsports Partners with Andrew Smith Racing

CHARLOTTE, NC – Ryan Farbo, former suspension specialist with Hendrick Motorsports, has opened an independent operation in Concord, NC and announced a joint venture with Andrew Smith Racing.

Farbo Motorsports with Andrew Smith Racing is a full-service Legends car racing operation offering a turnkey solution to the Series drivers. The package includes car set-up and preparation, repair service, driver development, and media relations training.

Farbo’s skill with Legends cars was honed under the tutelage of famed Legends car driver, Clay Hair. “I learned so much working as car chief on Clay’s team,” he said. Taking the basic principals and applying them to each driver’s style is what leads to victory. With my experience at Hendrick Motorsports, I have the knowledge, leadership skills, and background to deliver winning equipment for winning drivers.”

Andrew Smith, Farbo’s partner in the venture brings the experience from the driver’s seat. Smith has racked up over 200 victories, 3 Legend Car track championships, a Road Course Legend Car championship, a Dirt Track Legend Car Championship, and won the National Champion title at the 2008 Legend Car Series Championship event. He has won on road courses in full-sized late-model stock cars, and on dirt in different divisions of stock cars. In 2010, Smith won the Georgia State Dirt Championship in the INEX Legend Pro Car Series. Smith’s record and hard-charging driving style coupled with Farbo’s set-up have proven the combination of Farbo/Smith is hard to beat.

Smith was the first racer ever to receive the prestigious Golden Wheel Award when he was crowned Champion of the 2009 Humpy’s Heroes Driver Development Program. The program is named for and was directed by legendary track promoter Humpy Wheeler.

When asked about the new business, Smith commented: “The first time I met Ryan, I was impressed with his knowledge about race cars and his strong desire to win. Now we have the opportunity to combine our strengths to assist other drivers.”

“First and foremost we will run this business with pride and integrity,” said Farbo. “Integrity is all you have in life. We plan to build our business on the standard that hard work, dedication, and preparation are how you win races. That’s one of the biggest things I’ve learned at Hendrick Motorsports.”
